The nature of Vlieland
The green side of Vlieland
Unspoiled nature with a wide variety of birds
None of the Dutch Wadden Islands offer as much nature as Vlieland. Of the island's 39 km2, only 0.4 km2 is not a nature reserve. The island has various nature reserves: mudflats, dunes, forests, and beaches. This also means there is a wide variety of plants and animals.
Peace and space reign supreme on the smallest Wadden Island, where birds rule the roost. The island is home to many different birds, which live here, breed here, or are passing through on their way north. The best way to explore the island's nature is on foot or by bike.
