Vlieland Lighthouse

History and a unique insight

Lighthouse on Vlieland

From the high Vuurboetsduin dune, on which the red lighthouse stands proudly, you can see almost the entire island. The forest, the salt marshes, the dunes, the ponds, the mudflats, and the beach. In clear weather, you can see not only the neighboring islands of Texel and Terschelling from the lighthouse, but also the Frisian and North Holland coasts.

The lighthouse is open to visitors on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
