Untouched nature with a great variety of birds

No other Dutch Wadden Islands boast as much nature as Vlieland. Of the island's 39 km², only 0.4 km² is not a nature reserve. The island boasts several nature reserves: mudflats, dunes, forests, and beaches. This also contributes to a wide variety of plants and animals.

On the smallest Wadden Island, peace and quiet reign, and birds rule. The island is home to a wide variety of birds, some living, breeding, and others en route north. The best way to explore the island's natural beauty is by foot or bike.
